The link carries the assignment

Most classroom software solves “give this assignment to those students” by building a roster: accounts, logins, a database somewhere holding children's names. That database is what triggers the review, the paperwork, and the months of waiting.

What it means in practice

• The settings are in the URLExercise, key, tempo, note values, range, articulation, hours and your own written instructions all travel inside the link's own characters.
• So there is no rosterThere is nowhere to keep one. The app has no concept of a class.
• And no record of who opened itThe student is anonymous because there is no mechanism by which they could be identified.
• Nothing to breachA database that does not exist cannot leak. There is no student record anywhere to expose.
• Nothing to maintainStudents move, change instruments and join mid-semester, and none of it breaks anything, because there is nothing to update.

Why it matters

This is the single decision that everything else on this site follows from. No roster means no accounts; no accounts means no personal data; no personal data means nothing to review, nothing to store and nothing to lose.

It also means the app cannot grow into something else later. There is no roster to start collecting, because the architecture has no place to put one.
