  • Composed in 1977 for the clarinetist Suzanne Stephens; around 1982 John Sampen requested and performed a version for soprano saxophone, which Stockhausen adjusted the next year with Hugo Read.24
  • Built on Stockhausen’s formula technique: a basic motif in two contrasting cyclic layers, interrupted by cadenzas.24
